For most small businesses, bookkeeping and taxes are thought of as a singular disipline. Great books translate to accurate and complete tax returns. For this reason it may be important to work with an Advanced Certified ProAdvisor bookkeeper who in turn works together with the tax preparer. From my perspective as a CPA, it is optimal to work with a familiar ProAdvisor bookkeeper with a shared philosophy and objective. While I work with several independent bookkeepers, there are some with which I work closely to offer a unified feel to the small business client. From the client perspective, the result provides coordinated services and a consistent approach, as would be the case with any CPA firm.
